Here are some examples of using pictures on a page.

here is some text.  Note: picture was inserted with cursor left of "here" at the begining of the line.  No image properties were set.

here is some text.  Note: This picture was inserted with cursor left of "here" at the begining of the line.  Under the image properties, the Appearance tab was clicked and "Left" was selected from the list box under "Alignment".  As you select different Alignment Options, the example image moves to show what the effect will be.

here is some text.  Note: picture was inserted with cursor left of "here" at the begining of the line as in the line above.  Under the image properties, the Appearance tab was clicked and "Right" was selected from the list box under "Alignment".  

here is some text.  Note: the same picture was inserted twice with cursor left of "here" at the begining of the line.  The first image has its Alignment proerty set to Left and the other set to Right.

Now several picture get inserted in the same line.  All have the Alignment property set to "Left". 

Finally, notice what happens to the text and pictures when you resize the browser window.  Remember, you are creating HTML and it needs to place the text and images no matter what the screen resolution or browser size is.
