Soaring is...an aerial ballet...a magic carpet ride... Some have called it the sport of kings.

If you know the sky and your craft as soaring pilots do, soaring is beautiful...magical...spectacular...and thrilling.

The best way to find out what soaring is all about is to experience it yourself!

John Flies 2nd 500K.jpg2010 December 3 ... Congratulations to John Slifer (a.k.a. YP, a.k.a. Santa Claus) for completing not one, but two 500K (311 mile) flights along the Sequatchie and Lookout Mountain ridges this fall! The accompanying photo was taken of John beside his ASW-20 on the runway at Marion County Airport near Jasper, Tennessee. Either flight would have qualified for Diamond Distance had the battery in John's EW Microrecorder not failed in flight twice. The first attempt was made on November 26th and the second a week later. So we offer John condolences as well as congratulations. The third time is the charm, John!
